Brock Ford is a normal 1930s sixth-grader whose experience with adventure up to now has been with Doc Savage magazines and Saturday afternoon serials at the local movie house. But when his professor/adventurer uncle, Dirk Armstrong, offers Brock and his trusty dog Sparky the chance to accompany him on his latest excursions, Brock leaps at the opportunity for real adventure. Soon he is in the middle of Africa searching for an extinct tribe of ancient warriors, exploring the tombs of ancient kings in Egypt, and lost in the wilds of Alaska, all while relying on his wits, his integrity, and a great deal of luck.
