He played for FC Rouen, and earned 18 caps and scored 4 goals for the France national football team, and played in the 1934 FIFA World Cup. He was the father of Patrice Rio, who represented France at the 1978 FIFA World Cup. Patrice Rio (born August 15, 1948 in Le Petit-Quevilly, Seine-Maritime) is a retired football defender from France, who obtained a total number of 17 international caps for the France national football team in the 1970s. Playing for FC Nantes (1970a??1984) he was a member of the French squad that competed at the 1978 FIFA World Cup. His father, Roger, was also a French international footballer.
