It was the 38th edition of that competition, which is one of the oldest extant skating competitions. Figure skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. The competition was held between November 11 and November 13, 2005 in the Dom Sportova in Zagreb, Croatia. The Junior-level equivalent was the 2005 Golden Bear of Zagreb.
